What is the difference between the crystal resonator and oscillator? | Xtalong

What is timing crystal?

Crystal is the abbreviation of timing crystals, timing crystals are the components that produce resonant frequency, mainly play the role of frequency control. And timing crystals  was  sealed only blank  inside without no circuit, Main parameters include the  load capacitance, frequency stability , resistance, aging etc. In the welding circuit, both sides need capacitance resistance and other electronic components to help vibration.

What is the classification of timing crystal?

Timing crystal, which can be divided into general crystal and high-precision crystal, such as common type SMD3225/SMD2520/SMD2016/SMD1612 which is commonly used in the market, also has the DIP type crystal ,such as  HC-49U,HC- 49S.

What cut type is your timing crystal?

General crystal blank is AT cut , high-precision or frequency crystal cut not only AT method,

also has  the SC cut and IT cut , high-precision crystal packaging form by HC-43U.

What oscillation type is?

FUND, 3rd overtone, 5rd overtone

What is crystal oscillator and the difference with crystal resonator?

Crystal oscillator also named active components. The difference between resonator and oscillator is that on the basis of the passive resonator, a starting chip is added, and circuit IC is included in the package. The parameters include voltage value, output mode, control pin, etc. the common connection method of source crystal oscillator (four pads): 1# suspended, 2#grounded, 3# output, and 4# voltage.
